April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Consent for sex is permission for something to happen or agreement to do something. When sex is consensual, it means everyone involved has agreed to what they are doing and has given their permission. Non-consensual sex, or sex without someone’s agreement or permission, is sexual assault.

More and more women are victims of sexual assault. The cost of counseling is very expensive. Promote healthy healing and donate today!

Thank You

Our first Art auction finalized on December 17th. It was a huge success! Thank you to all who came out and supported this cause! Many females in the Austin area will be able to have hope in their healing because of your generous donations! It has truly been a blessing to see God work from beginning to end with this auction!

I want to especially thank Taylor Stearns, who sang beautifully at the event! Some of you wanted to know where you could purchase her music. You can find her on iTunes or go to her website: http://taylorraestearns.com/

I want to thank all the artists who donated their awesome works of art! It would not have been a success without you all!

Please keep in touch to find out about more upcoming events that will be happening in the future!

Welcome to Crowns of Hope Texas!

It is estimated that there are 60 million survivors of childhood sexual abuse in America today.
Approximately 31% of women in prison state that they had been abused as children.
Approximately 95% of teenage prostitutes have been sexually abused.
It is estimated that children with disabilities are 4 to 10 times more vulnerable to sexual abuse than their non-disabled peers.
Long term effects of child abuse include fear, anxiety, depression, anger, hostility, inappropriate sexual behavior, poor self-esteem, tendency toward substance abuse and difficulty with close relationships.
Clinical findings of adult victims of sexual abuse include problems in interpersonal relationships associated with an underlying mistrust. Generally, adult victims of incest have a severely strained relationship with their parents that is marked by feelings of mistrust, fear, ambivalence, hatred, and betrayal. These feelings may extend to all family members.
Guilt is universally experienced by almost all victims. Courtois and Watts described the “sexual guilt” as “guilt derived from sexual pleasure”

This is why Crowns of Hope was formed. We aim to help victims pay for the therapy they need so they can be a survivor and not a statistic!
